Trogir – the most beautiful Croatian city to visit!

Staying in one of our flats, you have the opportunity to visit Trogir, a town that is located just 2 km from the island of Æiovo and is under the protection of UNESCO – the old town is included in the list of world heritage. This is quite a treat for lovers of harbour architecture, historical monuments, narrow, charming streets and Mediterranean cuisine. To get into the town, you have to cross a small bridge over the moat…. and then you can admire the unique character of this inimitable village!

What is worth seeing in Trogir?

This town ranks among the best-preserved Central European Romanesque-Gothic towns. As you stroll through the narrow streets, you can admire the diverse architectural styles, striking facades and balconies. The heart of Trogir is John Paul II Square – it is surrounded by important monuments such as the town loggia – a 15th century building that used to be a courtroom, a meeting place and a shelter during invasions. The clock tower and the Town Hall, reminiscent of Venetian buildings, also catch the eye. The symbol of Trogir is the Cathedral of St. Lawrence – the Radovan Portal by the Dalmatian sculptor and architect leads to it. The Cathedral’s bell tower is also worth a visit – it is 47 metres high, but climbing it provides breathtaking views of the town’s panorama and the surrounding islands. As you can see, Trogir abounds with many attractions – and it doesn’t end there!

Be sure to keep these points in mind when visiting Trogir!

A favourite with tourists is the Riva, the promenade in Trogir. It is a wide promenade along which lush palm trees grow, giving the place a unique atmosphere. There are also restaurants serving local delicacies and luxury yachts moored at the shore. It’s worth going there after dark, when the promenade is illuminated and the surrounding pubs resound with quiet music.

Wondering what else there is to see in Trogir? The list seems endless! You should definitely visit:

– Kamerlengo fortress and St. Mark’s tower,
– Stafileo palace
– Garagnin-Fanfogna palace,
– Cippiko palace.
